Discrimination and Exploitation of Unregulated Migrant Workers: A Biobehavioral Approach to Advocacy and Policy

This project explores the effects of discrimination and exploitation on the health, well-being, and functioning of unregulated migrant workers. This project is guided by a biobehavioral approach and stress-coping models to identify potential modifiable pathways underlying health and social risks among unregulated migrant workers. We aim to understand the relationship between stress from unregulated work environments, namely discrimination and exploitation, physical health, and mental health among migrant workers. This mixed-methods project consists of qualitative data from job brokers and quantitative data from interviews with unregulated migrant workers.
